## Introduction

How would a professional camp in an urban environment? Camping is a general activity, which
could be done out of necessity or by choice. Time at camp can include leisure and productive time
alike. This guide is divided into two parts: “Basics” require no electricity, and “Luxuries” expands
upon the Basics with electricity and automated services. It is written for a moderate climate (35-
75F); true, in post-pandemic times Electricity and IT are practically basics, but we’ve separated
them out because it’s a natural way of thinking.
Urban Camping is great in San Francisco, where this guide was written mainly in a Civic during the
pandemic and edited in motels and while traveling. Dwelling in a vehicle is an excellent option in
moderate places. With the proper facilities, the vehicle is comfortable for most of the day and can be
left or parked in different places according to desires—sunshine, shade, views, privacy, etc. The
local homeless population are in tents but their living situation is almost identical except for
Moving.
Future guides may explore aspects such as Physics and Stealth in detail.

### Science & Law

This work is cross discipline. The processes and methods are informed by Computer Science, which
explores the other areas in a generally depth-first fashion. Since it is open source and controversial,
authors may be exposed to liabilities for developing knowledge in public via experimentation. The
work itself should include proper defense for legitimate efforts, as the impact can be wide—Van Life
is fun and by choice, but each month an increasing number of people are losing their homes and can
benefit from this work, which amounts to a net gain to society—more readers, fewer piss bottles near
trash cans. More understanding of the processes of the universe, easier reflection of the things it
shows to the reader. (Eg. I never litter, but sometimes water bottles fly out of my bike drink holder…
yesterday I bought smart water and lost it such, and then later saw smart water bottle on the ground
somewhere new and of a smaller size… I recall this happening before, feeling like a trend… but then
the whole download could just include the feeling of having done it before. If I sat for some imnutesI
eel I could pull the image o the bottle out).
There exist law enforcement databases for people of special interest. One is for people with
restraining orders, and one can imagine there are more such as released violent offenders. It may be hard to discern what lists exist and that one is on. Some observed effects of being on lists may be
police presence beyond chance at places that are frequented, unfriendly shop keepers, and other things
that people of color talk about related to “racism.”
Productivity
Habits are the #1 way to unlock productivity. Intensity beats consistency every time (Bruce Lee), and
programming based on scheduling needs and preferences can dominate gains made by
inconveniencing oneself and working up will (Ms. Olympia 2x).
Developing one habit at a time is the best way to reach self actualization, and each habit can require
from about 7 to 40 repetitions the first time with so-called muscle memory kicking in on subsequent
implementations of the habit if it is broken.
There exists a set of habits that can be built from the ground up to the top of Maslow’s hierarchy,
perhaps in a varied order depending on the work of a person. The aim of this work is to document
those habits and provide a means of realizing them for one who has nothing beyond the skin on their
back and is stranded on a beach [1]. Most readers will start in a position better off, but indeed writing
the by establishing habits one-by-one was the aim. For example writing and edition were determined
to be separate but interdependent tasks with separate needs, and life without running water or
electricity forced me to find ways to get by that calls those items luxuries.

Physics
Quantify processes
Establish bounds (global).
This may be more prominent in the Security book where we explore models.
“The Physics of Homelessness” was the original title of the work, but this book became just the first
volume because it’s quite the undertaking. Algebra is a component of physics, so indeed this work
could be the Algebra of Homelessness, but indeed the material applies to a wider range of people including the professionals who live in their car by choice or due to bumps in life such as myself
(likely paying light karma).

Legal publications
Common for ____ discipline___. (don’t know what don’t know).
Conservation of Energy (Law of Karma)
The conservation of energy means that each action has an equal and opposite reaction, and indeed the
word Karma means action. The Bible does not explicitly use the word Karma, but it is a book of
Justice and Money which represents balance and energy flow. The activities required for life will
always be allowed without creating non-beneficial reactions, and indeed doing the work to maintain
oneself to a Godly standard invites beneficial reactions from others who are pleased by the sight of
God—except of course for the demonically possessed, who are also free to form prosperous weapons
against the unrighteous who lack God’s protection. Being dirty or tired or eating junk food open doors
to demonic possession and are disgusting to God who withdraws his protection. A common
misconception is that God punishes, when in fact he protects and Lucifer petitions him for permission
to punish (God of creation vs. god of the earth).

### Weather

Cover from wind and sun, a blanket, a hooded sweat shirt can make all the difference.
One hour of productivity per day is infinitely more than zero. It can be mentally taxing to focus
when the weather isn’t great, but everything is in mind.
When the weather is just right and one has access to a shower and the proper clothing then they can
seek work; when that’s not the case, one can not present themselves well and will find it harder to
get work and make so-called choose to not seek it. Be truthful with yourself and God will allow
whatever is required.
The time of day can play a major role in temperature. Long days will give more working hours, but
there may also be a longer gap of heat and direct sunlight in the middle of the day.
When the hand gets hot, it also sweats which causes grease on the device which may seep inside.
Rainy days can be leveraged for productivity.
Hot phone. 70 degrees outside, heats up car. Covered windows mean more shade but less
circulation. Open windows mean air flow but also more wind and noise and less security.
Heat wave. There are microclimates in some places.
Winter. Winter creates an urgent need for resources that in some cases are best met by “digging in
the garbage” such as returning to an ex partner. God provides and protects, and so if one becomes
trapped in such a situation then there is a way out yet and hope must be maintained and it is for a
reason, Karma that must be paid—hard as that is to write and likely read for many (prayer may
help).Drought. Perhaps a scarcity of food. Extra body weight can perhaps be put on if this is anticipated.
Artesian wells may provide a life line, so it is good to know where the nearest ones are. Diet may
have to change in include imported items like dairy or preserved meats, though in all likelihood
those will run out before dried nuts as people perceive them to have more nutritional value than nuts
and berries. Travel may be required to attain resources from a better climate if camping is
involuntary such as homelessness or disaster displacement.
40F min daily temperature and above make a reasonable experience living outside. Below that it’s
uncomfortable to have skin exposed like fingers.
Have you ever been locked out of your house? That’s the best approximation to what it feels like to
be homeless. In most peoples’ cases they can afford to call a locksmith or pay the landlord’s fee,
while they burn an hour or two. Locked out without a mobile? 95% of people will be beyond
confused and freeze to death in the snow before they consider options for accessing a phone to call a
locksmith or the landlord. What is an option? Walk to a nearby business and ask to use their phone;
homeless people do this as part of their daily routine.

### Travel

Travel is the most basic thing we can do, beyond moving the head on our neck. We can walk, ride a
bicycle or skateboard or roller blade, ride a scooter or a motorcycle, drive a car or pickup truck or
van or more.
To walk we’ll need some shoes or fancier modes of transportation with routine maintenance. Some
modes are good for some things, and others for others… some offer expanded horizons. Each have
time and cost trade-offs. In addition to physical travel, one can think of this book as a mental
journey from poverty to sustainability,
Travel Principles:
If it fit yesterday then it fits today.
Empty with cycles.
Add with consideration.
Not all offers can be taken, unfortunately.
Similar to leaving things saved so you never wonder.
Leave things as you found themPut them away as if you’ll want them next time.
The table below is an illustration for people unfamiliar with a wide range of travel.

[ TABLE ]

Zone 3 city with natural barriers on 3 sides and multiple world class
economies.
Traveling requires luggage based on what activities are intended for the journey or at the destination
and how long the stay will be and what resources will be available upon arrival. A letter of intent is a
good framework for thinking about any travel, including for employment. The right to retreat must
be maintained and generally the best place to retreat is back to the last safe place—animals have an
instinctive memory of their last safe locations and humans while more complex with Maslow’s
hierarchy have same same mechanism. A job offer to move 2,000 miles across the country need
include provisions for it not working out, for example, to avoid a vulnerable situation that can
amount to being trapped in a slavery situation. God protects yet care must be taken to avoid falling
into such traps. Time is allowed to test spirits which includes negotiation, and so resistance or
pressure is a sign that the employer may be of a different spirit (not equally yoked) and the
arrangement may not be healthy (See also: Offers in prior edition or uncut source material).

### Water

In the absence of all else, water is required to survive and sustain a fast. In the event of low savings,
it is wise to prepare for a 3-5 day fast. If possible, one can keep $3 for an emergency coconut water
and have enough water on hand, about 0.75 gallons per day.
Bathing takes about 2 gallons of water per week, vs. showering daily at 30+ gallons per shower.
Very green and eco friendly. This makes urban camping a good approach. Apparently using plain
waiter may be good, and recent cultural norms are shifting to more lax bathing.

### Food
After some days it may be necessary to eat. Immediately cutting out all animal products while
traveling without fixed accommodations can be wise… they show up more than one might imagine,
but start with what you can see. Dairy and meat go bad very quickly and with severe consequence; it
takes one experience to realize that this isn’t about saving the animals.
Storage is OK if the temp. remains below 41F, otherwise it should be avoided… all but the softest
produce is OK after 12 hours, but after 24 hours all bets are off… so planning from dinner to lunch
is a good idea.
A sink with ice may be enough to keep take out food fresh, if well insulated.
I follow the warrior diet and do it vegan style. Eat in the evening, (3/4).
It’s good to eat as much fresh food as possible. Its alkaline is good for our body. It’s tempting to
think that eating 2k calories of oatmeal is a way to save money, and indeed it can be used every
other day or similar for a 25% savings. But one can not survive on non-perishable food for very
long, while remaining sober and vigilant—almost by definition, there are hard to process
compounds in the non-perishables that are hard for the body to process ie. take energy that could be
used for constructive processes in digestion. Oatmeal for example is mucho sugar, and the low sugar
variety is lower calories and thus requires more consumed to match calories and may raise the cost.
Also, foods like oatmeal that are high in sugar are great before workouts for example, because the
sugar is used immediately rather than creating stress in the body that manifests as anxiety and
sweating and more.
Vomit can happen. It’s good to vomit into a bio bag, push out the gas and tie it shut, and then repeat
to avoid puncture. The cooler the storage location the better, and the more immediate the disposal
the better as well. A bio bag can hold bile vomit for weeks.

### Potty

Toilet is the first pro homeless skill to master, as it consumes a service with no exchange. Typically a
park or mall or department store will have a bathroom available, and random trips to it suffice. After
a week of regular trips, somebody will notice and start watching and expulsion could be a matter of
time—and people are liberal with their slander of vagrants and homeless.
Pooping into a bio bag is the best course of action. I am aware of the possibility of using composting
toilet matter and have not found a source of the material after a cursory search. SF Bay Area,
imagining a 1lb block of hamster cage wood dust/chips. Maybe that’s the solution. Currently I then
put that in a semi-sealed container like a coffee cup or a chip bag, which holds the smell.
Peeing into a bottle is fine. I recommend 1 gallon bottles that are used for water, with secure screwon lids that can be discretely dumped and then recycled for example in a backpack at a pack. I’ve
seen other VanLifers use glass water bottles… I question the full cycle of maintenance.
Pooping in the tent can make or break a work day, but one must manage the smell. A reusable
container to seal in the smell can be tempting, but then it will absorb the smell of poop and become
very unpleasant to work with. Better is to wrap the poop bag into a bag saved from chips or a coffee
cup. These options will be limited by the temperature and airflow of the environment, and make a
good option for early morning poop schedules. Eg. The poop comes at 5-11am and then fast is
broken at 1-3pm and toilet containers placed in waste and dumped in a can on the way to pick up
food.
Roll up your sleeve before you shit. In a pinch a chip bag will work. Keep a spare with you, just in
case. Roll up the end up tight, pushing the air out. Then keep the bag pinched if possible. This is
overall better than wrapping the entire bag around itself, as far as air escaping.
Food is one of the first things that people think of offering a homeless person.
Free food is never free. The hidden costs are travel and bathroom. It’s wise to do without animal
products.Once the bathroom technique is mastered, it leads to a more pleasant end result than even using the
home toilet in some cases—wet tush wipes make all the difference, and certainly public bathrooms
do not accommodate them well or often.
The defensibility of shitting in a bag is a hotly debated contemporary topic, and the reason that I’d
preferred to delay publication of the book until I was housed, perhaps second only to the concern
about sleeping in locations known by potential aggressors. No doubt I’m vulnerable to scape goating
and example making. Never the less, the argument goes like this:
* If there are no toilets available then one must poop in a bag on in their pants.
* People throw dog poop in the waste bin
* People throw diapers in the bin
* Landfill disposal is sealed in the ground and does not decompose
* Given investment I can dispose of human waste for drivers and homeless people who are forced to
shit in bags, and be profitable. It’s a reality. There’s a supply. I can turn it into an opportunity, and
turn a profit. Or you can put me in jail.
Mother fuckers are blessed to handle my shit. Mother uckers who handle my shit are blessed.
Or you can take the idea and feel like you need to kill me for it (and fail if you try).

[ IMAGE time spent doing potty ]

In a space like a tent or carriage even a well sealed poop container starts to smell as it gets warm and
creates internal pressure within the container. This is incentive to deal it well and keep it in a space
away from occupation, and to empty it frequently.
The smell can be very uncomfortable.
It’s hard to imagine that this is sanitary over the long term. Demons may thrive upon eating one’s
own poop in trace amounts that are left on the fingers before eating. Imagine pooping and wiping,
touching other things, and then eating with fingers—gross. Running water is required for proper
sanitation, as even use of chemical sanitizers can create resistant strains that survive (eg. 0.01%
survive and then multiply).
If one is able to spend time in a coffee shop or coworking space and blend in, it can be a great
alternative to pooping in bags behind dumpsters. The better a neighborhood one can blend in in, the
better. Prices may be more expensive and bus service may be more rare, and that is a feature to the
residents of the neighborhood (beyond some aberrations like the bay area).
The norm at cafes and coworking spaces can be high trust. Go along with whatever the norm is,
which often times means leaving a laptop on a table unattended. This may be against corporate IT
policy, but it is what people do in high trust establishments. A balancing factor can be to use full
drive encryption and power off the machine to erase any access credentials which may be in
memory. In this lifestyle people are probably accustomed to shutting down and powering up more
than average—corporate workers typically sleep their laptop for months or years, while people with
a shortage of battery power may do it as a habit because they don’t have enough available power to
frivolously leave the machine running.

It’s well known that 8 hours of sleep is the average needed for adults. I’m able to do 2 shorter nights

#### Writing

Writing has been an essential part of civic life since the time of scribes, . From signatures on
contracts, to book keeping, to communication, to poetry and informational material: the pen is
mightier than the sword. As we transition from the industrial age into the informatio
n age, the ride is sure to be bumpy as old paradigms as crushed and old verticals transform to
accommodate a wider vicabulary and wider and deeper spiriual literacy of an elevating population.
Writing can be done on paper or with IT. There are various sizes and purposed paper, and care must
be taken to properly manage them including storage and disposal, possibly with the option to scan
into IT, and the need for inventory. “Where is that paper?” “What is this pile?” “How can I make
space?” Concepts from computer science can be applied here.
Writing requires a space that has been acclimated to, meaning that it can’t really be expected in the
first 21 days of homelessness or until the succession of needs and habits have been met consistently
enough to establish the habit in a sustainable capacity. For example, writing for 1 hour per day in a
space that’s known to be safe and available is doable, but doing so at a random park with chaotic
surroundings is not. It may be possible to catch inspiration there, and that kind of serendipity
requires fast access—this document for example took 5 minutes to open up in a totally controlled
and peaceful setting with secure power, clean laundry, empty bowels, etc.
Remember how you needed to “get into the groove” to write in University? Well beyond the easily
attacked emotiional state—yes, it was possible to write while having moods if enough of the rest of
the needs were met sufficiently. I went through that myself to be an engineer, and have devised a
taxonomy to quantify these needs and the capabilities that are available when a given set are met.

[ IMAGE Maslow’s Triangle – myself toward the end of High School]

We’ve covered the bottom layer. Next we’ll go deeper.
Some writing is best done in private. In some cases a privacy screen is not enough.
Editing as distinct from writing requires more resources such as a larger screen, implying that more
electricity is needed. Depending on the location electricity can be ample for scarce, and there may
be gates to pass through for its use such as entering a cafe and abiding by the rules of Rome or
tapping into a street light in an area with weak police protection or lack of enforcement such as blue
collar neighborhoods in SF.
Editing within a paragraph, editing the paragraphs within a section, and organizing a book into
sections are each levels of editing. Adding in supporting evidence and references is another layer
that requires previewing material as a reader would experience it. Editing within a paragraph may be
possible in a low power environment but not the higher orders of editing. Exchanging emails with
inline quotations may seem simple to most but requires screen real-estate enough to edit at the
paragraph levels.
Letter of Intent should be a single page and answer key questions about presence in a given location,
which could be Home or a foreign place for indefinite or bounded time. This letter of intent from myvisit to Minneapolis is an example, perhaps not the best but it is the first one that I wrote and
includes a brief explanation of what a LoI is and why it would be used. Homeless in particular are
vulnerable to malicious parties painting false narratives about their behaviour.
Journaling may be a wellness activity based on writing without editing, although keeping a proper
system of record is a topic all on its own (security, transportation, etc.).

All must labor for 6 days per week and rest on the 7th according to God. What we do for work varies,
and indeed even a Tax Collector can be blessed. We are on the earth but not of it, and so we must in
some small way pay our taxes to the god of the world without worshiping him. The most remote
property has property tax, thus all must do something to generate currency. The stereotype of people working their lives to retirement and then dying is true: there is no concept of retirement within The
Bible. Indeed, the nature of work can change as one ages but we must always be serving others. A
priest who lives based on donations can easily justify using a portion and the need for donations in
general based on the need for property tax. As much of a Shepherd as one may be, having more
possessions that one can carry is required even for a teacher of God’s word and thus at least a storage
unit or small property with tax is required… and if not, still travel itself costs money as does food in
our world built by Farmers. Isn’t retirement justified if one saves enough funds to survive the
remainder of their life? Think about the storehouse: perhaps a year or 3 of provisions may be
reasonable saved and protected by God, but excess is subject to destruction or theft (indeed, 666 =
excess). So in conclusion, everyone must work in some capacity, and thus everything required to
work can be justified and is protected by God for the righteous. What about movies where the good
guy dies, such as Antitrust where the open source guy is spied on and killed with his work stolen and
given workers of the competing corporation? A) we don’t know what he did off screen that would

God, more so than hoarding and fearing for the protection of resources. We find in this work that
that there are basics required for survival, so for example if one is in a climate with distinct seasons

We think in terms of dollars in the modern age, and that is a reasonable until to represent storage

Having a phone makes people assume that you are available like a normal person with a phone.
Voice mail, texting, lack of voice calls. As a homeless person a different set of options work. A job
lead may text you and expect a response without knowing your situation or being able to properly
imagine it. When they don’t hear back until the next day or several days later they may have a false
impression of hesitation or similar. Sometimes relationships just need to be severed because the
damage is irreparable, despite being imaginary. It depends as much on the ther party as on the
homeless person. But the more ways a homeless person can make it known or get around the issue,
the better the expected result.Dedicated abusers can make answering the phone costly in terms of energy. It’s never the goal to
avoid callers, but callers are often unacceptably aggressive and demanding and hanging up on them
can be used against the vulnerable person by appearing as aggressive or belligerent, making
answering the phone a risk. It’s wise to only answer calls from known callers. A person being able to
answer the phone is an indicator of status and resources, similar to a mailing address. Shady people
don’t answer their phone, but is a person who doesn’t answer their phone shady? People may
assume that the answer is yes and go a different direction. Lack of status invites lack of
charitableness in some, but there is always hope to find grace.
Relationships can be damaged by breaking the social contract around mobile usage. Having an IG
account and not checking DMs can be perceived as missing opportunities or ignoring contact
attempts, which later Tweets about “having no friends” can add insult to injury to.The Halo Effect
comes into play with subsequent infractions, and eventually friends can start to reinterpret a past of
assertiveness, productivity, and inspiration exchanges as their having been sucked dry or similar. If
there is a mob effect then it’s almost certain to happen, and once an investment is made in the new
image of you then mechanisms come into play to maintain that consistent image in the mind of the
individual for the sake of group membership and perhaps even comradarie during winter months if
it’s that type of climent (eg. Minneapolis). Lifelong friends can interpret a request for
accommodation and help relocating as trying to scam them out of money upon blunders, such as
failing to pay a phone bill and missing a text with a job lead. Fathers can come to view money
lending similarly, and use their power or authority to paint an image as an adult child who does not
have work ethic or understand how money works. They will ignore a mountain of evidence to the
contrary which they used to praise as having been ill-gotten, perhaps “on their back,” in an attempt
to gain acceptance and unearned credit within their social group of parents with similar problems
with so-called lazy children. Delusion can be exceptionally strong in order to maintain social
cohesion and spread like a virus: families are not immune from gossip and career destroying slander.
This relates to the homeless portion of the audience more so than the urban camping professional,
but the damage can start small—picture going on vacation at work without leaving an OOO message
on, and after some weeks people will learn to get their needs met and have a negative image as
always having shirked work if it’s even incidentally happened in the past. Trends have a way of
filling the gap between two disparate incidents, eg. if an email was missed 2 years ago and then
again with perfect service in between the two years of service will be perceptually lost. It’s as
though strikes know no time.Phones were once resources that we freely shared and we rightly thought of the number as transient,
perhaps on a shorter time frame. Homes had phones, pay phones could receive calls, and if movies
are to be believed then people lent strangers their phone to make calls from freely. Now we have
identity services built on top of phone numbers that are linked to our accounts such as payments and
chat. Which is the proper view? Perhaps neither, as there are other ways of addressing that do not

laptops over time, taking into account electricity. Since it uses ARM processors the power usage is
much lower, at very little cost to most use cases on the Pi4 platform.
Typing rate can make a huge difference. Screen size as well.. imagine pixel count and surface area
as related but a large screen may be low resolution and less useful than a high res small screen.

#### Editing

Editing, distinct from writing, requires mental space to stitch many lines of reasoning and thought
together, compare them, organize them, etc.
In software engineering everyone knew the term “in the zone” and sometimes managers would even
enforce the space needed by putting employees “in the box”; is it reasonable to assume that a
homeless person needs this same amenity? I would say yes, but most people view the homeless as
less than human. There is more discussion on Offers later.
Is there is productivity metric for screen real estate? Resolution, DPI, Area. # of screens. OSHA. I
think there’s a minimum required for some functions like editing. Processing may have similar formula for number of cores and clock speed, as well as memory and bus speed. We could provide
concrete examples: 13” MacBook, iPhone SE, big new iPhone, iPad, RasPi 7” RasPi 24”.
Editing needs feedback. Writing may be improved by feedback, but the main point of editing is
making it presentable for other audiences.
Imagine the movie “Almost famous.” I made an audio recording on 3/23. The scraps of paper that
the protagonist edits together are his writing. Medium was limited in that time, 80’s at latest, to
paper and a few radio and tv and movie and play like things.
Content for this section can be pulled ffrom writing and Email, so that the capabilities can be
specifically delineated. An email can be printed and a response written and edited beffore typing and
sending. If a person has always had a comfortable editing or emailing enviornment then the
activities may not be distinct. But in the absense of enough power to run a compting environment, a
different approach must be taken. Where can email be printed? For example. Tasks explode in time
required, and a new method is simultaneously being learned. If a person were accustomed to it
before homelessness, then it wouldn’t be an exponential issue as it is for a first timer at both
homelessness and offline email management. On old buddy used to come to my code night and send
emails, and he had a laptop but no Internet at home. Editing may require some types of security, at
very least from attack and theft and the ability to carry work between days and see it though.
Is WYSIWYG required for editing? Can one stitch together a huge array of notes and data by
converting them to common formats and configuring scripts? Picture the scene in Almost Famous
where he’s writing the article from his notes described as incomprehensible. Could he have turned
those notes into the final article? Writers may struggle to refrain from editing while they write—the
important part of the first draft is to ship a complete set of ideas, and may be totally rewritten in the
final copy. Knowing this, does it seem plausible to stich together the scraps or writing? I would say
no. Is a WYSIWYG required? The astute may quip back that things were edited before IT, on paper
or rock; indeed. A typewriter leaves its mark and shifts the view. A pin board accepts scraps being
pinned to it, and the change is what you get. So yes, in order to edit one must be able to immediately
see the final product. To assemble it from scraps, on could argue, one could view the final product in
a preview screen. Indeed. Would this lost the UX benefit of for example InkScape where objects can
be selected and edited in place? For the most part, yes, without advanced tools to integrate with the
rendered document. I would argue that the power consumption would be the hinging factor; the edit-compile-preview loop intuitively sounds more expensive than the WYSIWYG approach. The
argument for paper could include lighting costs, if the work will require hours beyond daylight and
thus artifical lighting? Screen size is a factor too, like for writing; the preview should fit at a
reasonable zoom level in full on the screen.

[ IMAGE wysiwyg editor ]

One can see page breaks and rivers in white space with WYSIWYG editing, which are an element
that the reader notices.
WYSIWYG is like training wheels. If you know what the document that you are writing to looks
like, then you can imagine the scripts and pieces that would be composed to create it and make those
pieces. Without having a visual idea of the end product, it can become intractable to work with
scripts. Intractable in the sense that if the mental image changes, then many scripts and sources need
to change instead of one document that can be incrementally transformed using the known
operations of the wysiwyg editor.
So one could make the argument that the scripted solution can produce and document and is thus an
equivalent, in fact wysiwyg is an implementation of an imagination system that would be translated
into sources and scripts. One could thinkg of writing, editing, production, deployment… editing would be done using the wysiwyg tool, and then its pieces would be mapped into a production
system like _____ that is sourced in markdown fed through a binary through a shell script.
Wysiwyg is an imagination aid in addition to an editing or writing tool. Writing and editing can be
done without one, but when it comes to composing the final document without a clear picture and
without experience using tools to make documents that are similar, it is a complex problem of
imagining the output and editing the source to generate that output.
It takes a certain kind of mindset to be able to work in a loud cafe. Growing up in an abusive home
with “one shot” at getting out ASAP is great training. Indeed there are countless distractions, if one’s
focus is enough to block that out then they will have a much better chance at doing higher order
activities like editing that are a solid step in the road toward wealth.

##### Energy usage of WYSIWYG vs. REPL system

[ IMAGE power usage graph ]

REPL systems may have a lower marginal energy usage since the sources and scripts can be
independently edited on less capable viewing hardware. But there are periods of scripting and needing
to find documentation that inturrupt flow state—as is the case when learning to use any new tool,
nothing in particular about REPL tools causes this. WYSIWYG has a learning curve as well, as does in
coding an IDE or illustration software as well as the postscript file format that works on printers.
If you want your documents to have character, as well, it’s nice to be able to quickly draw illustrations
that fit the final style of the document. Indeed, a REPL loop can offer this but as the changes increase
and the number of types of sources increase, whos products need to be linked together increase, the
REPL loop will get more expensive. Print can abstractly include refreshing a PDF or HTML view.
There are reasons to avoid WYS or prefer REPL but lack of a large screen is not one. REPL does not
replace WYS in that respect, in its capacity as an imagination aid. If the document is of a familiar type of the system is familiar and documents can be imagined and mapped to hypothetical source then a
REPL system can replace WYS on systems with small screens.
WYSIWYG is great for the exploratory period of a work, perhaps through the first draft copy. At that
time decisions can be made about producing the work onto the target media, and whether undertaking a
project like REPL / build conversion with data merged are worth while. Imagine an engineer founding
a project in an IDE and then sub-contracting out some of the modules with fixture data and some
particular specificiations. The REPL or build system could be used for an analog of modules of the
project, which may be books and worksheets with common records utilized.

[ IMAGE parking cover ]

Abide by local parking restrictions and use camp site rules.
Depending where you park people will have different reactions. People will stare at you and if you
stare back at them then it’s strange. I’m not using a common device to write this, so it could be hard
for people to figure out what I am doing in my car.
Heat becomes an issue later in the day. This can help some things like bathing and keeping the
internal temperature up. It also makes air become too hot, which can be remedied with an air
conditioner at the cost of adding exhaust gas and extra tear on the engine, like the coolant and oil
(“idle hours” is the technical term).
Window cracks provide air flow. For a portable heater to work there needs to be X square inches of
cracks.
Parking atop a hill is good for safety. It makes the psychology easier. It’s a natural barrier that deters
people from getting close. Naturally they can only exist on 1 or 2 sides of the car, usually the
passenger side and then front or rear. Walls are another feature, for example a retaining wall or a wall
or hedges.
Trees can provide shade. If you’re using a screen then this can be a bonus. If you are using solar then
it can be a hinder if your batteries need charging.
It may be useful to create a map or list of parking spots, as a new routine can wash the memory of the
old.

[ TABLE ]

The main factors to parking are weather, safety, amenities. Safety can extend beyond the common sense
dangerous minorities. In the avenues of a city people may belong to secret societies and use them as
extra-judicial enforcement through neighborhood watch-type programs. Parking by a bus stop is a good idea. Neighbors can’t complain much. Drivers may come to recognize
and resent you. Activities can be planned by their season. Laundry may wait over night and be strange
to put away at night and look lazy if not done by afternoon.

Sex
Perhaps more controversial than the Potty situation is the Sex situation. They say that it is a basic
physical need on the order of Food. Does that ring true? That all depends. It may sound good for a
housed person in a functional life. But should homeless people be thinking about it and acting on
those thoughts? What do you think when you see a pregnant woman with a cardboard sign that is
begging for money? How would you feel if two VanLifers met up and the cradle started rocking? Do
we let homeless people adopt pets? If not then why should they be engaging in activity that brings a
little human to life? At very least they should be able to afford a motel if they’re engaging in such
activity. If sex is a basic human need then we need to accommodate it for all people. Like safe
injection sites for drugs, should we allow free access to conjugal visit areas? Indeed, are all inmates
entitled to conjugal visits with their wives? Is masturbation endorsed and accommodated? We’re told
that masturbation is healthy and “cleans the pipes”… should we expect that homeless people are
doing it in their tents? Van dwellers in their van?
My personal opinion is that no, we should not accommodate it. Yet I’m happy to mention it because
it’s a question that may burn in everyone’s mind, or maybe I am just a thorough pervert for
considering the full hierarchy of so-called basic human needs. Plenty of literature can be found on
semen retention, and indeed depending on the level of woo that the reader can accept they may buy
the idea that manifestation ability can be increased by retaining seed. When do you think the last time
Jesus jacked off was when he turned water into wine? The last time ___ spanked it before he parted
the sea? One need not subscibe to biblical understanding to ralize the benefits of semen retention—
turn only to the simpsons [homer simpson semen retention clip]. Similar to having a child, if one can
not afford shelter then they should not put energy into pleasuring themselves. The result of retention
has an evolutionary advantage, again, whether one believes in evolution or not, one can not deny the
connection between increased focus and mental clarity accomplished by semen retention and
productivity required to improve one’s life situation. No doubt law enforcement would agree with my stance whatever their personal beliefs: homeless
people and van dwellers should not be wanking. The case of van dwellers who are making a good
living and can afford fixed shelter should include a motel budget if they want to spank the monkey.

Similar to Van Life, compact life is life on wheels. It is derived from a common route into
homelessness, which is dwelling in car. The next alternative is living in a tent. Beyond that is rough
sleeping. Next up might be Truck or Van Life, followed by RV Life and into Motels, Hotels, SROs,
AirBnBs, HotelTonights, …, apartments, condos, town-homes, homes,….
Compact is a word with multiple widely used meanings. Compact Life starts with a person’s present
situation and builds them into the ideal person, through a few principles and a progression of habits.
Based around existing theories with some innovation in presentation, Compact Life is woven
throughout this guide as it was developed in concordance with the hardware used to author this work.
Editing. Editing is challenging in limited power situations. CarPuter was developed as a single
portable platform that expands with resources available. It consumes low power and is expandible to
large screens when available. This eliminates data migration concerns such as bandwidth and
processing that can be a bottleneck to applications like iCloud storage.
Travel. Travel requires resources such as Money and Time. It may be taken forgranted by “spoiled”
people with enough resources
Controversy. This work was not developed without controversy. Humble author had left tech and been
living in his car for some time before the pandemic hit, but due to constraints created was forced to
build suitable IT to train for and apply for jobs, and other tasks described in this work. Being on the
Internet and once influential and popular there were many eyes and great criticism happening behind
the scenes, and seemingly many false stories running to fit a narrative of the author as being dishonest
and lacking work ethic. The zeitgest of pandemic, worker shortage, and character attacks were enough
to make author experience what can best be described as “gang stalking,” and due to the illegal nature
of such activity it is impossible to get facts on the source of perhaps multiple gangs beyond the
discernment and insights from meditation of the monkly author. More will be published along this
vein in the future under the Physics of Homelessness or perhaps Doing Business While Homeless
lines of work. Businesses face adversity and that may have been one sect launching campaigns

It feels like mental squander and to a person who is naturally productive it feels like missed
opportunity. When homeless and without income, people are also critical of how time is spent so it
can feel isolating to be unable to interact with people naturally and while in violation of the social
contract. During so-called worker shortages it can appear to others as though one is choosing to not
work. When the weather is just right and one has access to a shower and the proper clothing then
they can seek work; when that’s not the case, one can not present themselves well and will find it
harder to get work and make so-called choose to not seek it. Indeed, a homeless person has a limited
radius of travel constrained by budget and geography and can not show up to the same places to
apply more than one in a short period [This should perhaps go in another section related to
homelessness or socializing in the homeless specific work].
The time of day can play a major role in temperature. Long days will give more working hours, but
there may also be a longer gap of heat and direct sunlight in the middle of the day. This may be good
for charging batteries from the drive alternator and running errands, but cause some confusion
during transition periods like spring and fall where day length can change by around a minute per
day. If doing professional work, it’s good to start early in the morning and wrap it up by the peak of
the day’s heat. The heat will linger for some time. Sitting in lingering heat can cause excess wear to
electronics, consumes more battery due to inefficiencies from thermal properties, etc.One need not feel like people like them for security to realize that they need to be liked in order to
